The Blue Iris Approach
Blue irises represent hope, resiliency, courage, patience and positive change. Life is hard and it is not uncommon to feel overly stressed, angry, anxious and overwhelmed. I pride myself in working alongside you to help you gain insight into the underlying mechanisms that have shaped who you are today, replace unhelpful patterns of behavior with new ones that will serve you better, and cultivate self-compassion.
Providing a safe, nonjudgemental and supportive space, I will not only teach you appropriate tools and techniques needed to live a more meaningful and satisfying life you deserve, but how to utilize them in an effective way. I am easy to talk to, down to earth and will be completely real with you through this healing process.
My approach as a therapist is collaborative. I borrow from a variety of perspectives, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), person-centered, narrative, solution-focused, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness based approaches, in order to tailor therapy to your personality, goals and needs. I will strive to create a safe space to help you utilize your strengths and grow towards acceptance to be the best version of yourself, however you come to define that.
